The project “Person of the Year” starts at RosNOU

On June 1, 2020, the student council of the Russian New University (RosNOU), together with the Department for Youth and Educational Affairs of RosNOU, announced the Person of the Year project, an annual award to the best students and teachers of the university.

The prize will be awarded for successes and achievements during the period from September 1, 2019 to September 6, 2020 in eight categories:

  • “Person of the Year” (awarded to a student for achievements in educational, scientific, creative, sports and social activities at the university and beyond);
  • “Project / Event of the Year” (awarded for organizing and conducting the best student project / event);
  • “Breakthrough of the Year” (awarded for the creative approach to student initiatives and their future development);
  • “Artist of the Year” (awarded to the most artistic student who took an active part in the creative activities of RosNOU);
  • “Volunteer of the Year” (awarded to the student for active citizenship);
  • “Scientific Achievement of the Year” (awarded to the student for outstanding achievements in scientific activity);
  • “Athlete of the Year” (awarded to the student for outstanding achievements in sports);
  • “Teacher of the Year” (awarded to the teacher for successful work and achievements at the university and beyond).

Student organizations, associations, individual students, and teachers of RosNOU can take part in the competition.

Only student organizations or associations can nominate candidates for the Person of the Year nomination; representatives of student organizations, student associations, individual students, and teachers can nominate candidates for other nominations; the independent nomination is also allowed.

Winners in each category will be determined by voting among students, teachers, and university staff.

Competition Stages:

  • The preliminary stage (filing applications, forming a portfolio of applicants on the project website https://personagoda.com) – from June 1 to September 6, 2020.
  • The main stage (voting of students, teachers, and university staff) – from September 14 to September 28, 2020.
  • The final of the competition (gala concert) will be held on October 2, 2020.
